Parochial Church Council

Report of PCC meeting held on Wednesday 24 September 2008

It was agreed that Simon Elliott should take over the role of youth representative on the Shared Ministry Team (SMT) from Eric Denison.

It was reported that the Diocese still hadn't met to discuss our applications for new church gates and vestry roof but would do so shortly (plans for vestry roof are now at the back of church for you to see).

Eric Linford, treasurer, presented a financial report which included details of two generous legacies (Dora Parr and Elsie Brown) for which we are very grateful. It was also agreed that would aim to give 10% of the cost of re-building the vestry roof to our church charities.

It was reported that Sefton deanery synod had agreed to keep the boundaries as they are at the moment but to review this each year as the deanery mission plan is drawn up.

The cluster of local Anglican clergy had a day away to discuss future working together and it was very helpful.

Ali Dobson, SMT member for children, attended the meeting so that our application for the Child Friendly Church award could be agreed and completed.

Steve Matthews, SMT member for cell groups, gave a report on cell groups to the PCC who were pleased with the plans for their development.

Barry Fell's term of office as trustee of Crossroads has come to an end and he is not wishing to continue and Peter Dobson has resigned as deanery synod representative (if you wish to be nominated please see a PCC member).
