Parochial Church Council

Report from PCC meeting held on Wednesday 12 July 2006

The PCC clarified the legal position on people wanting to video a baptism/wedding/funeral service. It was their responsibility to obtain the necessary licence and only then could permission be granted.

The PCC agreed to purchase a new lawnmower for the graveyard and to put a legacy towards the sum needed.

The PCC agreed to a day away on a Sunday in November from 10-4pm at the CHET centre.

The PCC were given a further update on the Old Crossroads building. A land agent had been out to assess the situation and we are waiting for legal advice on how to proceed.

The PCC received a report about St Luke's Halsall. It was agreed that a sub-committee of the PCC should be established when ever an appointment of a new governor needs to be made. Applications would be invited and the sub-committee would make a recommendation to the PCC.

The PCC also received a letter from Pete Spiers and Michael Freeman, circulated to the other PCCs too, as a result of the last team ministry meeting. It sought to clarify certain issues and it was found helpful.

(Please note that this was a shorter meeting than usual as it was followed by an open meeting of the whole congregation).
