| Study 4 Practical Prayer |
|
| Welcome | Share with group about the people in whom you find it easy to confide and why this is so? |
| Worship | Read Psalm 43 together then praise God for the things he does mentioned in the psalm. (Declares me innocent, protects, lights our way etc). |
| Word | Read Philippians 4:4-9 together What kind of God do we believe in? Consider the following statements and say which you relate to and why? God is the Creator God. God is a friend God is a God of strange priorities. Can we be completely honest with God or do we have to approach him the right way? How can we really know what God is really like? Read 1 Corinthians 13: 12. God knows what kind of people we are, so should we worry too much about praying correctly or in the right tone of voice. Should we only pray when our faith levels are high or is it important to pray at all times whatever we feel like? In "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe" Aslan the lion seems to represent God. He is close by yet awesome. He is all knowing yet a friend. Does this image help you as you think about prayer and how does it help? As we pray we meet God and become more like him. |
| Worship | Spend some time praying for each other and the needs of our community then finish with The Lord's (family) Prayer. |
