“to create a place of beauty and a haven for people and wildlife

Verge between car park and graveyard: February - May 2009

At the start of 2009 the boundary between the car park and the graveyard consisted of a mound of soil and a high privet hedge. We kerbed the edge of the car park to tidy it up and create a border for planting. We decided to reduce the height of the hedge to enable the graveyard to be overlooked from the car park. Visitors to the graveyard comment that they now feel much safer.

We heard about long-flowering meadow seed mixes developed by Pictorial Meadows. Although we planted in late May, the mix blossomed into an attractive border by the end of July.
