St Luke’s Church Great Crosby
Grounds Project

“to create a place of beauty and a haven for people and wildlife

New seating bays and railings: February - July 2009

The railings in the foreground were installed in July 2008 and were paid for by St Luke’s church. The railings on the bank were erected in July 2009 with money from Awards for All (Big Lottery).

The benches were carved in July and August by Simon O’Rourke who carved the eagle at the entrance to the community garden in February 2008. They were mainly sponsored by church members in memory of loved ones and were part funded by a grant from Awards for All.

These improvements will provide an alternative area for people to sit and relax; a safe, enclosed space for children’s groups and an ideal outdoor room available to groups using the church hall.
